Hybrid Focusing Metric for Sound Speed Estimation in Photoacoustic Imaging Involving Layered Media

To reconstruct an image in an adequate accuracy from the data obtained by Photoacoustic Tomography, the properties of the tissue which effects the data must be selected properly. In our case, the tissue is the skin (layered media) and the property is the sound speed. In our research, we developed a new metric -Hybrid Focusing Metric- to estimate the uncertain property (in our case, sound speed of the skin layers) to reconstruct the most accurate image through PAT.
